PROJECT BACKGROUND

Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame is a groundbreaking movie in many ways. There’s the commercial success (it’s currently shattering every box office record in existence), there’s the critical success (it’s receiving favorable reviews everywhere), and, most importantly to fans of the franchise—there’s the emotional success (it brought a satisfying conclusion to a 22-movie saga).

As someone who’s been along for the ride over the past 10 years, I wanted to pay tribute to a pivotal moment of the movie and saga. I also completed the work on the 11th anniversary of the franchise’s first movie, Iron Man—the character featured in the artwork.

I finished this piece relatively quickly after the film’s release, so to avoid spoiling the ending, I first shared this in video format with a spoiler warning (and the Avengers’ theme playing in full fanfare, of course).
